Our long-term partner, the agency SeoEvolution, approached us with the task of designing a solution for their client Tataki. Since the agency specializes in full-cycle promotion and development, they entrusted us with creating the visual concept and designing the interface to improve user experience metrics and increase conversion rates.

About the project

Tataki is a modern Japanese food delivery service. The brand focuses on high-quality ingredients and aesthetic presentation. In a highly competitive food delivery market, the website required an update that would help the brand stand out among competitors and make the user journey from selecting rolls to completing payment as short and seamless as possible.

Design stages

We divided the process into five stages, taking into account that in the food delivery niche, up to 70% of users leave a website if they don’t find the desired dish within the first 30 seconds.

  1. Research: Analysis of best practices in the food delivery niche and study of behavioral patterns of the “hungry user.”
  2. Wireframes: Designing page structures and interaction logic without focusing on colors.
  3. Design concepts: Searching for a unique visual style that highlights the appetizing nature of the dishes.
  4. Inner pages design: Detailed design of the catalog, informational pages, and the checkout process.
  5. User account: Creating a functional space for returning customers.

01. Research

During the research phase, we analyzed competitors and e-commerce trends within the FoodTech industry. We focused on how users interact with filters, choose combo sets, and which barriers prevent them from completing an order quickly. This allowed us to implement solutions that make the Tataki interface not only visually appealing but also highly functional.

02. Wireframes

We paid special attention to creating highly detailed wireframes. At this stage, we designed the user flow, taking into account the placement of promotional offers, the convenience of selecting additional sauces, and the structure of the cart. This allowed us to align the entire site logic with SeoEvolution and the client before moving on to visual design.

03. Design concept

We developed several homepage concepts, experimenting with content presentation. The main focus was placed on high-quality food photography, which is the primary trigger in this niche. We chose a clean, modern aesthetic that does not distract from the product while creating a sense of premium service.

04. Inner pages

After the concept was approved, we moved on to the detailed design of all site sections. Our goal was to maintain interface clarity while providing users with all essential information:

  • Product card: Emphasis on appetizing imagery and a clear structure (ingredients, weight, price).
  • Checkout process: We simplified the form as much as possible by dividing it into logical blocks (address, time, payment).
  • Delivery and Contacts: Informative pages with clear zoning and quick access to messengers.
  • Promotions and Blog: Custom templates for special offers and engaging content that increases user involvement.
  • Careers: A dedicated section for those who want to become part of the Tataki team.

05. User account

For a food delivery service, the user account is a key customer retention tool. We designed an intuitive menu that includes:

  • Personal details: Managing saved addresses for faster ordering.
  • Password change/recovery: A convenient account security mechanism.
  • Order history: The ability to repeat a previous order in one click.
  • Favorite dishes: A personalized list for instantly building the cart.
  • Personal offers: A section with bonuses and individual discounts.

Mobile version

Since more than 80% of food orders are placed via smartphones, the mobile interface was designed to allow users to place an order literally “on the go” with one hand. Convenient add-to-cart buttons and simplified navigation ensure a seamless user experience.

Results

Collaboration with SeoEvolution helped transform the Tataki website into a powerful sales tool. The new UX/UI design simplified the user journey and made interaction with the brand more enjoyable. An optimized structure and a functional user account became the foundation for increased customer loyalty and a higher number of repeat orders.
